The Kimonos Art Center, in collaboration with Vintage Art House Espresso Bar invites you to two evenings of open-air screenings of films from the Animattikon Project's archive, on Saturday 8th of September and Sunday 16th of September 2018, at 8pm. Come to enjoy a selection of short animated films from last year's official selection, along with a nice drink in the back yard of Vintage Art House Espresso Bar and have a first taste of the next edition of the Animattikon Project, coming in October 2018.

Ovoid is an audiovisual, immersive and interactive installation created by three artists. Installation artist and print-maker Paris Christodoulou, audiovisual artist Sol Burt and music producer Demetris Kalasides. The opening of the exhibition is on Saturday March the 31st at Kimonos Art Center. The show consists of a constructed art environment which includes screen printed wallpaper, projected visuals with the addition of sound and light that interacts with the participants making them an essential part of the space whilst offering them a unique experience. Giving a different dimension to the relationship between observer and art. Inspired by experimental psychology and philosophy of the mind/consciousness, one of the ideas explored is that of reality as a subjective experience, a construction of the mind made out of colours, sounds and other mental sensations. However we find our senses often deceive us, deeming them unreliable. The artists also aim to intensify the property of art to transport awareness to a subconscious area. The whole thing will be happening inside two rooms in a 1950’s house which are part of the new facilities of the Kimonos Art Center. The opening will also include live performances by Sol Burt, Whirldos and Uvglov who have composed pieces related to this installation. After the opening of the exhibition, there will be a late night after event with music and projections at Timothy’s Art Bar, starting at midnight.
