"To practice any art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow.

So do it."

Kurt Vonnegut,

'A man without a country'

After a general introduction to the history and the logic of print making as an autonomous art form, the goal of this series of lessons is, on one hand, to give to the student the knowledge of the diverse print making techniques and, on the other hand, to help him explore them as profoundly as he wishes to.

Woodcut,  linocut,  etching,  monotype, aquatinta, maniera  nera  and  other  print  making techniques will be to the student's disposal. All the necessary equipment is available in the Kimonos Art Center, along with all the materials necessary for print making.      Moreover, the goal of these lessons is to help the student discover the techniques that best represent him, those who correspond to his personal sensibilities and his esthetic preferences.

By studying the great print makers of history along with the contemporary print makers, the student will be able, not only to reach the technical perfection needed in order to create beautiful prints, but to develop a complete personal visual language in his creations as well.

Kimonos Art Center offers the comfortable and inspirational workshop that is needed -in terms of materials, but not only- in order to be able to create a personal body of work.
